By the time the art and entertainment industry in Nigeria wakes up to his extraordinary ingenious works of art, I hope it won’t be too late because the western world is constantly searching for unique minds like his to infuse more depth and diversity into their various systems. As the Nigerian artistes, actors and actresses continue to add value to the entertainment world, the exceptional works from art illustrators and graphic artistes/animators like Ayooluwa should also receive attention and accolades. One major cause that contributed to the bad economic state we are in the country today is because our leaders seldom look outside the box. The major revenue outlet they once concentrated on was Agriculture, then later Crude Oil. They failed to empower other sectors like arts, sciences, entertainment, tourism and manufacturing. Now that the price of crude oil is failing to add up, it’s time for every other profession that can attract revenue to receive adequate encouragement. Guys like Ayoola need thumbs up.

Ayooluwa Nihinlola is a graphics artist, illustrator and digital art enthusiast whose love for computer graphics started in the year 2008 during the first year of his Fine and Applied Arts degree in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He was ready to do anything—sleepless nights, working part-time, hours in cybercafés watching tutorial videos—to learn the basics of computer graphics. He joined the Facebook craze around this period and has Mark to thank for encountering Nigerian graphic artistes like Matthias Aragbada (Dudutoonz), James Alabi (Abinibi), Tola Alabi, Jydekris Okonkwo, amongst other awesome artistes. Hours spent studying the designs of these folks and many others, trying to figure out the softwares and techniques they employed, all these started to pay off in Facebook likes of images he posted. Approval came from friends and family and later from other members of the graphics art community, who were ready to comment, commend and critique his work.

Ayooluwa now works as the Graphics/Design head in Gamsole (one of African’s biggest gaming company) in charge of Illustration, animation, UIX designs and motion graphics for the company. He proficiently uses Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects (all in the Adobe creative suite); 3D Max and Sketchbook Pro (both by Autodesk). He still posts experimental designs on social media platforms and endures the insomnia that comes with a desire to improve creatively.
