It will be a colossal mistake to chronicle the tale of hypemen in Nigeria without mentioning Ben Foster. He’s the unquestionable grandmaster of them all. Records have it that he’s the first recognizable hype man in Nigeria. Through the thick and thin of the entertainment industry in this country, Ben Foster kept his head above waters. With the increase in the numbers of Hypemen, Foster is in a league of his own.

“Professionally, the job of being called a hype man started for me in 2008. As the hypeman at the club called Rehab, I was the first hype man in Lagos. I came into the entertainment industry as an artist but I evolved into the hyping career. The list of the clubs I have worked in as a hypeman is long. From Roadrunners, G12, Voodoo, Dueces, Dv8, Q Lounge, Club Uno, Quilox, Club 57 to now Cubana, I have paid my dues” – Ben Foster
