The one thing 2018 taught most of us is that, anyone that can effortless switch within career opportunities without getting swamped and lost, is inevitably guaranteed greater prospects for success and happiness. Gone are the days of myopic-mindedness of one stream of income is enough. Responsibilities are far exceeding per capita income.

The need to explore ideas within one’s objective creative prism is now a necessity. One of the young exemplary entrepreneurs that exhibits this thesis is Cynthia Ebijie. Her flawless alter-ego transition from a budding model, television presenter to now one of the most promising actress is impressive. She’s one of those few that will control the narratives in the entertainment industry in 2019.

“I’m an actress, Tv host, Model and of course a student. I’m the first child of 5. I’m an accounting student of Lagos state university.

I started my modeling career at the age of 9 where I contested in a beauty pageant organized by the charming kids organization. My parents were very supportive as they assisted me in areas I needed help. My mum would take me everywhere I wanted to go to because she believed in me. They had my back and I won the pageant in the year 2010 where I had to travel to Istanbul, Turkey to represent Nigeria in the beauty pageant. I won the best choreographer and most photogenic. Got an award as well.

Fast forward to 2015 I contested in the pearl look beauty pageant where I was among the top 6.

The most important part of my entertainment career is my acting career and it actually started in the year 2018. If you asked me years ago if I wanted to be an actress, I’d have said NO because I didn’t like it. I thought I was really bad at it I don’t like to do things I can’t do. Until one day, I saw an audition memo for actors and I decided to just show up and give it a try; who knows?

I expected myself to flop but surprisingly, I got a callback. I was surprised. I was like, “how”? So that motivated me to keep going for auditions and the funny part is I kept getting callbacks.

That was how my acting career started thriving as I’ve featured in a couple of major movies like Mnet’s, “My siblings and I” where I play the character Bimpe. I also featured in Chika Ike’s new film “Small chops” where I played the character Young Nikita (post production stage). I also in the movie Eyimofe where I played the character, Grace and a Rok TV movie titled “Sophia” where I played the character Fatima.

I made my debut in a short film titled “Marooned” where I played the character “Grace”. I’ve done a good amount of films in a year if you ask me and it’s all by God’s grace and talent. I’ve worked as a TV host for Afromusicpop and also a reporter for Hiptv. But if you ask me what I enjoy doing the most… I’d tell you acting lol. The whole experience as an actor is really exciting getting to be different people and living lives of people you can only think about is interesting” – Cynthia Ebijie
