JOSEPH AHAMEFULA’S PHOTOGRAPHY TALE

In my journey recording a documentary series tagged “Mystreetz Hustle”, I came in contact with some of the most inspiring young talents that cut across modeling, fashion, music and the photography industry. One of those with works that has resemblance of the pathways took by iconic photographers is Joseph Ahamefula popularly known by his Alta-ego ‘Joegraphy Photography’. Each of his photos makes for unique artistic statement and a promising future. I sat with him to hear his story.

“I was born on the 27th of Feb 1995 in Aninri Local government area of Enugu state, grew up in rivers state Port-Harcourt in a family of 4. Finished my secondary school in 2012. I started photography in
2014 but finally took off professionally in 2015. It was hard initially getting real clients that loved what I do and were willing to pay for my job but I kept working wisely until that gateway opened.

The passion for the art of photography #kinda started from my school days. I loved sketching pictures. I was the only person other students approach to draw diagrams for them, and when I finished my secondary school, I went to a computer training school but all I was interested in then was just graphics, so I started with doing graphics for close friends, getting money ranging from 500 – 1000.

But as time goes, I settled in for acquiring photography skills. I went through YouTube to study about real photography; I also acquired knowledge via fashion magazines. As of today, I have done shoots with most top stylists, models, fashion house and artistes in Port Harcourt and Lagos. As I progress, I continue to make art, learn and ready to make history.
