NAOMI OKORODUDU – KEEPING UP WITH THE REIGNING MISS UNIBEN
In the modeling circle, participating in a beauty pageant and eventually becoming the crowned queen is not a small feat. If you are of the opinion that winning Miss World competition involves huge sacrifice and politicking, go ask those that try to do same within the university arena. It’s a huge task. Overcoming the politics that plays out in the campus by folks you call friends, people you have associated with for a long time, is never an easy thing to accomplish. Naomi Okorodudu the reigning crowned queen ‘Miss UNIBEN’ is one that pulled through that rough terrain. I caught up with this 300 level student of Marketing to talk about the moment she was announced winner and how she’s been faring.
Talk about the moment you were announced winner?
The feeling that day, men!!! It was priceless.
That was one of my greatest moment, being on stage at Miss UNIBEN finals hearing the crowd scream my name in unison and then I was announced the winner. God, I’d be sincere, I was so close to crying, tears of joy. Days after I’d be sincere, I was still warming up to the feeling of being crowned the current queen, and the congratulatory texts I got from family and friends, it was awesome.
How have you manage responsibilities as a crowned queen and also as a student?
Truth be told, it had affected my academic performance and extracurricular activities, because there are times when I have to be in class and also have to be somewhere else for a casting, but all the same, its all worth it.
What are you looking forward to in the coming months?
I look forward to working with Prince Meyson, Image Faculty nd Idris Dawodu. My Love for their art knows no bounds. Fashion brands I have my eyes on and God willing would work with includes Mai-Atafo, Lisa Afolawiyo, Jenniva Designs, Gucci And Balmain. Getting featured On Vogue would be awesome for me also.

Naomi okorodudu has all it takes to be a successful model. I see her in the ranks of Agbani Darego and Oluchi in no long a time. I hope she remains focused and dedicated to her course. If I have a modeling outfit I won’t think twice about signing a modeling deal with Her.
