NGHARGBU KUNKWLE GRACE – Navigating Through Modeling And Djing Industry On Her Own Terms
Don’t talk gender disparity around her; she’s had enough of such excuses. Like a moving train, this lady is heading for her intended destination traveling on high velocity and staying on track to achieve her goals. Don’t be mistaken to take her as naïve or fragile, she’s one of the rare breeds of new generation progressive entertainment entrepreneur galvanized to attain whatever ambitions they set out for. Nghargbu Kunkwle Grace is a model that also doubles as a Deejay at same time and she takes no prisoners. From walking the runway, participating in pageant and finding time to deejay, Grace effortlessly navigates through these two industries without any strain.
“Modeling for me started right from primary school at an unprofessional level (lol). I was a beauty queen in primary while at high school I use most of my holidays to take a lot of pictures at different photo studios; then I had this album I always put my hard copies pictures. In 2015 at the university, I decided I want to do this proper so I enrolled with a Modeling agency, did a lot of shoots and had a lot of catwalk training sessions. With that, I have walked about 5 runways making Mercedes Benz Abuja fashion week my biggest. I have participated in 7 pageants and I have won 5 crowns.
Talking about djing, well right from time I have always love listening to radio, paying attention to their music sessions and selections. Then I use to have this small radio that uses battery. It was flexible and I can listen to music anytime. I also had the luxury of being able to play lot of music from my phone. I usually disturb the whole house, anywhere you here music, I am there. So one day, my siblings advise ‘why not be a DJ’? I was like God forbid. Well, I got caught up in djing. I started my DJ training late 2016 and boom I am a DJ now, although still learning to become better. Presently, I’m the first DJ In my state. Shout out to all DJ Koko fans
I am a Mada girl from Kokona local government of Nasarawa state Nigeria popularly known as koko. Growing up for me was fun because I was my daddy’s little girl, the #lilprincess and pet (lol): you know what that means. I attended the Daughter Of Mary, Mother Of Mercy Nursery and Primary School, and then proceeded to Girls High School Gindiri at Plateau state and I am currently a final year student of Nasarawa State University, studying Mass communication. As a model and a DJ, I hope to inspire the million of girls in the north and all over the world to chase their dreams and aspire to become the best. Stay focus and dream big”- Grace
