If you were very conversant with the history of the Nigerian music industry and the evolution of R&B music genre, then you would have come across the names of the duo of the now defunct group called Gxploits. In 2008, the group signed a deal with Yes Records where they gained recognition performing alongside A-list artistes and racking up nominations from Channel O music Video Awards, Soundcity Music Awards and Nigerian Music Awards.

I remember touring with them in Johannesburg and Durban in South Africa. Everything was going on smoothly for the group in their quest to attain maximum success but due to disputes with the record company, the group disbanded. Despite that, one of the members with the staged name Shaybilly continues to pursue his career as a solo artiste. His debut single was titled ‘Pretty Girl’. So far in 2018, he has released two singles ‘Rock Your Body’ and ‘Turn Me Down’. The song and visual for ‘Turn Me Down’ re-established him as a vocal powerhouse. With a debut album planned for 2019, Shaybilly is flying high in the Nigerian music industry.
