Travis Scott’s ‘Astroworld’ to Dethrone Drake’s Scorpion on the Charts
If the projections are right, days are numbered for scorpion album on the charts. Travis Scott dropped his new album Astroworld on Friday and has reportedly been making a killing with streams. Hits Daily Double is reporting that songs from Cactus Jack’s new album were streamed more than 100 million times on Friday.
As far as album projections, reports say that La Flame will move somewhere between 400 and 500 thousand units which will likely give him the number 1 spot that was held by Drake’s Scorpion for the past five weeks. Drake is also featured on the album in the most streamed song “Sicko Mode.” The album also features Frank Ocean, Swae Lee, Juice Wrld, The Weeknd, Quavo, 21 Savage and more.
Astroworld is Travis’ first solo release since his 2016 album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, an album that gave us the hit song “Goosebumps” featuring Kendrick Lamar. In 2017, Travis Scott did a joint album with Quavo titled Huncho Jack that was teased for a while by the rapper/producer and eventually executed just before Quavo and the Migos finished up Culture II.
The rollout for the new album became a popular meme online when Gold Travis Scott heads started popping up in different parts of the U.S. including Amoeba Records in Los Angeles and Minute Maid Park in his hometown of Houston.
