WILFRESH IS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR
WILFRESH – A BREATH OF FRESH AIR
If I tell you that this lad is one of the most bankable properties and has the freshest vibe in the music industry today, those words still won’t be enough to quantify how talented he’s. Any contact with his songs is a beautiful experience. His vibe will gradually cloud your mind and engross your soul. By then, you would have come to terms with all I earlier said about him.
His debut single ‘I No Like School’ released October 2017 is a killer jam. This soft and mid tempo vibe will swiftly take over your consciousness. This song dominated most mix tapes either from Alaba market or on streaming site. While his audiences are yet to catch their breath from the frenzy that came with his debut single, Wilfresh delivered ‘Love You’ as a sophomore single. Damn, that was like lightning striking twice. What a jam this is. You can’t get enough of the melody.
Let take a step back and digest his debut ‘I No Like School.* ‘I no go lie I no like school, no be say I dey carry last when I dey for high school, Say na music I dey use take the test my IQ….’ – One of the most memorable lines from the song. What makes him special? Could it be his fantastic story telling? #Naaaaaa, there’s more to him than that. Maybe it’s his vocal delivery, the sound of perfection from his guitar playing; or could it be the sincerity you can feel from the depth of his soul when you hear him sing? No matter what it’s, Wilfresh is a breath of fresh air.
Born Iwinosa Wilson Iguodala, on September 26th, raised by a single mother who moved mountains to give him all the support she could ever conjure, Wilfresh is a fast rising urban Afro singer and guitarist; he’s the last child of a family of four. Raised and schooled in the city of Benin, at the age of fifteen, he was inspired by his elder brother (an aspiring rapper) to chase a career in music. He moved to Lagos at age 19 in search of more opportunities in the music industry. ‘The journey wasn’t as swift as I expected. I faced a lot of ups and downs while searching for opportunities.’ – In his words.
Wilfresh has worked with a few established acts like Tony Ross, Terry G, DJ Mekzy and more. He gained a little attention through his social media videos where he sang popular song covers with his guitar. With the help of Richard, his manager, he’s now a signee under Bamz Entertainment.
