2003 – Faces At The MAINTAIN ‘Indian Party’
2003 – On that cold August night, the frenzy about this party reached feverish pitch when the major players in the Nigerian entertainment industry converged to attend ‘The Indian Party’ put together by the group Maintain to launch their new single titled ‘Maintain In India’ produced by Cobhams Asuquo, who also voiced the chorus. He has earlier produced the group’s previous single ‘Catch Cold’ in 2002. The venue for the party was in G.R.A Ikeja, Lagos. The same compound where Paul Play once had his ‘Play Ground Studios‘ and Omotola Jalade had her office years later.
With my photo camera, I walked into the venue about 10pm feeling so hyped-up like all the attendees. Considering the party was a first of its kind, we all came ready looking Asian in our various India attire. I remembered watching Eedris Abdulkareem walked in with swagger like agent 007. With about four in his entourage, Tony Tetuila’s entrance was loud. It was a fun night for me. Great memories as a journalist working with Bubbles Magazine.
It’s about 15years now but I will share some of those images I captured that night with you.
