MZ KISS FOR CAPITAL HILL
WHAT WE SAY:
The Nigerian music industry has always and will continue to be about the survival of the fittest. Seldom is it a place for the one hit wonders and never does it have a soft spot for lazy veterans. If you are not constantly on top of your game, you will be knocked off the chart by the next up-coming artiste.
A few months ago, the hustle of the likes of Seyi Shay, Yemi Alade and Patoranking were not taken seriously by a few. Today, they are seating on the throne dictating the tune. Another of that breed raring to go is Mz Kiss. The latest artiste, signed on to Capital Hill.
WHAT SHE SAID:
‘It has been a long time coming, I have been working hard, still working hard, I love my music and my music loves me and it keeps me going. I have jumped from one show to the other. Some I was allowed to performed while I got kicked out of others because I was tagged as an upcoming artiste.
I have released a couple of singles. First was ‘U go craze’ produced by frenzy. Then later worked with Soplain who produced my freestyle ‘Holla At Me’ on the Chris Brown ft Tyga’s instrumental. I released a video for the freestyle shot by Dr frames. In the pursuit of happiness, I participated in Rap battles which gave me little recognition. I also released another single ‘Figure 8″ which after I met super cinematographer Gambit who signed me and shot the video for ‘figure 8’. Under his label, I released and shot the video for the single ‘Spatacuz’. That was a major turning point in my career but before I knew it, we dissolved the contract and parted ways amicably. I kept hustling and now I am signed on to Capital Hill, home to super stars like Illbliss, Chidinma, Suspekt with the guru of cinematography Clarence peters in the driving seat’.
