AKATAKA MIRACLE IS A PETITE MODEL WITH A BIG DREAM
‘I noticed I love watching fashion shows and my mother is a fashion designer so I always wore her designs with so much prestige and pride’ – Akataka miracle
Gradually, it’s becoming a ritual for me to discover and do a story on some of the talented people I randomly meet on social media. For the past three editions of the magazine, I have been able to reach out and do a unique piece on some of the talents that naturally would have had almost zero possibilities to make my editorial. In a modeling world where how skinny and tall you are typically determines how far you would go, coming in contact with this petite model full of self confidence is amazing. Her story and hustle underlines the fact that we should all embrace who we are and make the best of it because our uniqueness is what makes us special.
“My name is Akataka Miracle Ighokpozino. I am a petite model (5ft 3in), the first of 3 children, a 400 level student of Social Work from the University of Benin City, Edo state, (Uniben). My career as a model started when I was a little girl. I noticed I love watching fashion shows and my mother is a fashion designer so I always wore her designs with so much prestige and pride, and would walk around for my friends to notice it. I also loved taking pictures, I would always look at my pictures for a long time admiring myself and it grew to be a part of me. I also love to dress well and to have my own style, because I loved the attention I got from people around me. I started modeling professionally January 2016, so far I have walked on fashion runway shows like, Fashion and the Gospel, Ibadan Fashion and Exhibition Show, Evol Fashion Show 5.0 and few others. I have worked with a lot of photographers like TBR_photography, Suru Expression, Village Boy Photography, Twin Photography and a lot more as well as some makeup artists.
“What I love about modeling is those times I spend in the studio taking photos and being creative. Modeling makes me think out of the box, it makes me think beyond what I see around me. I get my inspiration and motivation from so many places, first from God, then my environment and from the internet most times. Aside from modeling I love to dance and sing. My best food? I really don’t have any, I just love tasty and delicious meals. I love fruits and ice cream, my best color is black. My dreams and future goals are to appear on international runway shows and magazines and to work with top designers in Africa and the world at large, and also to appear on commercials for big brands. I am currently under the management of the House of Zema.” – Akataka
