There’s nothing as interesting like interviewing creative folks with strong conviction about their profession. Hearing them talk about the prospect, and the satisfaction they derived chasing their career is the indicator that tells me how successful they will transform into. Alinonu Prince Chibuzor talks about modeling with so much bravado. This lad won’t bend to any obstacle until he becomes one of the most ranked models in Nigerian and across the entire continent.

“I am a final year Biologist at the University of Benin. Well, art in general has always been my thing. I had passion for music, dance, acting amongst others but along the line, I bumped into that part of me that has always wanted to be seen on magazines, television and runways. There and then, I knew that Modeling was meant for me. I finally summoned courage during my early days at the University to chase that career path.


I contested in my first ever pageant and ended up the 2nd runner up. It was funny how it even happened because it was a pageant between both sexes (male and female.) Well as usual, a girl won. What can the righteous do? From that day, I began to get few appraisals from friends, foes (lol.). Several people commended my effort. They had very good and positive comments about me and I was grateful. Those compliments convinced me that the future is bright. I needed to be a model and I wanted to feel that awesomeness again.

I later signed up for another pageant that same year and ended up the 3rd runner-up. This time, I had mix feelings because the crown was obviously stolen from me. It was glaring; even folks that weren’t my fans at the event frowned at the result. Well, that alone was enough satisfaction for me. After all that, I was finally signed to an Agency HIMODEL MANAGEMENT where I started as a prospective model in the Agency but as God will have it, I became the face of the brand and now, I manage the agency.

I have been able to work so many platforms and also coach others who are aspiring models. Some of the project I have been part of includes FASHION FERRARI 1.0 and 2.0, MODA ’17, EDO STATE FASHION AND DESIGN WEEK ’17, AFRICA ART FESTIVAL ’17, EVOL’18, WARRI FASHION AND STYLE WEEK ’18, Soon to come NIGER DELTA FASHION AND DESIGN WEEK ’18, and MEN’S FASHION WEEK NIGERIA’ 18.

I have also been opportune to work with top designers and photographers as well as stylists. I also featured on top magazine covers. The photographers I worked with include: @Amazing_klef, @Ncourage_photography, @Eve_studios, @Rodelenz, J@ust shotit to name but a few. The fashion brands I had done stuffs with includes one and only SMT Fashions, @Sundking_clothing, @IUF_couture amongst others. Currently, I am working on a show with my boss and a very good friend of mine. It is a fashion show tagged STYLE AND FABRICS EXPO AFRICA 2019″ – Alinonu Chibuzor
