‘Once bitten…’ they say.

This proverb does not apply to everyone and Wizkid has proven to us that he belongs in such a category. As much as we would all love to just focus on his music and his hard work, we can’t fail to notice that he is caught up again in another baby daddy controversy. This is not as subtle as the last; the baby’s mother in question is drawing all the weapons in her arsenal and throwing punches, ensuring her child isn’t ‘denied’ and what not.

The year 2015 was quite the milestone for the Star Boy and his loyal fans, the massive hit OJUELEGBA was remixed by international rapper and singer Drake and was also premiered on the star’s very own OVO RADIO. It was one of the most talked about remixes in Nigeria and also a dream come true for the Star Boy.

From his departure from EME, the birth of his own record label, international affiliations with the likes of Chris Brown, Drake, Tinnie Tempah, Wale, Akon, Alicia Keys, just to name a few, to humongous endorsement deals like his move from MTN to GLO, the Hennessy artistry gig, Pepsi and Guinness. The Star Boy has it all, he has seen it all and done it all, his fans are excited and his 1.4million followers on Instagram and 2million followers on twitter are expectant and want more.

In October 2014, Wizkid announced that he is working on his third studio album; he also tweeted about having recorded singles with Chris Brown for this masterpiece body of work. Fans waited… And waited and waited no foreseeable trace of the album.

In September 2015, Wizkid revealed that he was dropping his EP and postponing the release of his third studio album. He made the announcement via Instagram shortly after the conclusion of 2Face Idibia’s “Fortified” tribute concert. Wizkid was quoted as saying, “I celebrated the legend 2face Idibia last night! Epic! It made me realize how much work I need to do.” According to an interview published by The Fader magazine, Wizkid’s upcoming EP would be titled Sounds from the Other Side. Although much information was not revealed, The Fader did report that Wizkid is squeezing in edits to the EP.

It is a new year; hopefully the Star Boy has plans for an album release before the year runs out. As we await news of the album and possible features we hope for nothing but pure sounds and pristine quality music.
