Becky Erhunmwun – Face Model In Search Of Global Recognition
As of today, alongside careers like make-up artists and fashion designing, a large number of female students in the tertiary institutions in Nigeria are chasing a career in the modeling industry. One of the students at the University of Benin that is striving for a spot to be noticed as a commercial model is Becky. It doesn’t take long when talking to this lady to recognize her unwavering passion to become a globally recognized face model.
Christened Erhunmwun Becky Omosede, a native of Ovia northwest LGA of Edo State in the south-south region of Nigeria, Becky, as she’s often called, was a contender at the 2019 Miss Uniben beauty pageant. According to her, “I have always had the dream of becoming a face and fashion model. Right from my high school days, I have carried that dream with me. In getting admission into the University of Benin, I picked up the form to contest for that year’s Miss Uniben. My parents did advise I get into my second year before attempting. That was in 2018. Despite that glitch, I started fiddling with face modeling. Several photographers and Make-up artists were using my face for a series of work.
In 2019, I finally gave the Miss Uniben competition a go. The challenge was a blessing. I learned so much about modeling from it. Although I did not get to be the winner, the knowledge acquired was priceless” – Becky
Becky is currently in her third year in school at the faculty of Art, Department of Linguistics and African Languages. She’s standing at 5.5 feet tall, burst: 32, waist: 26 and hips: 37. She ended our conversation by telling me, “I have learned a lot from the industry, but still I continue to work hard in the pursuit of my goal of becoming a recognized face model. I am very optimistic that things will turn out good for me” – Becky
