Bimbo Queens – Dancing to Her Own Tune
…music, modeling, dancing, acting and entertainment in general has been my dream since I was little and luckily for me, I’m able to pursue my dreams and I pray that very soon, my
hustle would pave major ways for me.

Long party playlist will make us dance for hours but the various artistes’ songs in those Deejay mix always strikes different chord in us. Despite the fact that we are in an era where almost all music is embedded in pop genre, but still, successful artistes must have a signature tune. This is the most importance trademark that will separate those tagged the real deal from those labeled the bandwagon.
One of the female artistes distinct for her style and on the verge of breaking into the mainstream arena where the top dogs are calling the shots is Bimbo Queens. From Lagos to Ukraine, back to Lagos and then off to UK, this lady survived bullies that tried to take advantage of her quest for success in the music industry. Also, she survived an abusive relationship that almost made her gave up her career. Her work ethics on the songs she’s delivered so far, justifies the reason why she’s touted as one of the artistes to look out for in 2019.
In detail, talk about you, growing up and how music started?
Growing up in my home was amazing for me; my parents gave me all the best they could – being a highly pampered child right from birth till date – I’ve always had the entertainment zeal in me. Whilst in High School, I was in the Drama and Dance club and back at home, I found myself singing most of the time but my mum would laugh at me saying, “you’re singing with your nose.” She loved my dancing so much more but my dad always loved to hear me sing even though it was with my nose – lol. I came out of a highly supportive family, with a great upbringing filled with God and love and this has helped me thus far; music, modeling, dancing, acting and entertainment in general has been my dream since I was little and luckily for me, I’m able to pursue my dreams and I pray that very soon, my hustle would pave major ways for me.
Moving to Ukraine was when everything changed as I got the push to start working on my craft as an entertainer; in 2009, I started studio and vocals training – I released my first single titled “Let It Go” in February 2012.
The response to the work was unbelievable as I was just starting. From that track, I got my first ever booking to perform during a French Pageantry – it was so amazing – following this, there came many more achievements and recognition… God be praised. In 2014, I was presented the award of ‘Best Female International Artiste’ by ‘Hype Awards’, UA (Ukraine).
I moved back to Nigeria to pursue my music hustle in 2014, and this was almost the worst mistake of my life – on getting to Nigeria, all the people that promised heaven and earth to help and support my hustle all had the request of being intimate which was absolutely absurd and stupid!
I didn’t conform to all that pressure so my music got dragged and my work was all failing; I got depressed from this as I had put all my eggs into one basket, and that’s entertainment, and I refused doing anything else. Depression hit hard on me and I had to leave Nigeria to go take care of my mental health.
I moved to Turkey to take care of my health as I was also in an abusive relationship; it took a year for me to be fully okay and all thanks to God for his grace as I got back my shine, plus more! I went back to Nigeria with a reformed mind and a more matured spirit; I decided to make my entertainment dream work and also venture into greater achievements as I have a great zeal for Technology, Invention and Business. On getting back to Nigeria, I listened to my parents and went on with my National Youth Service; during this time, I met new set of people that invested their time and effort in the success of my music and ever since, I have been doing everything I can in my power to ensure I succeed in life, both within my entertainment craft (my music, modeling & films) and getting
other businesses done!
I eventually moved back to the United Kingdom and life has been great! Glory to God and this is Bimbo Queens hoping that the year 2019 brings me my big break! The struggle I faced moving to Nigeria in 2014 has made me a stronger individual mentally, spiritually, physically and
emotionally. This is just a *10*% review or recap of my journey so far! Telling my story needs a lot of pages for the write-up .
