Christiane Amanpour Reveals Her Battle With Revealed Ovarian Cancer
CNN’s Christiane Amanpour returned to the air on Monday, June 14th, after four weeks and revealed she underwent “major surgery”. The news network’s Chief International Anchor opened up about her secret battle with ovarian cancer while explaining her absence. Reporting from London, she first thanked her co-workers for holding down the fort before detailing her story.
“The last four weeks have been a bit of a roller coaster for me because during that time, like millions of women around the world, I’d been diagnosed with ovarian cancer,” the composed anchor said. Amanpour continued her heartfelt announcement, “I’ve had successful major surgery to remove it, and I’m not undergoing several months of chemotherapy for the very best possible, long-term prognosis.”
