Drake Attains The Number One ‘Billboard’ Chart Spot For 29 Weeks
If 2018 will be remembered by a name in the music industry, that name has to be Drake. His stellar 2018 just keeps getting better. The Toronto artist recently broke a Billboard Hot 100 chart record for the longest-reigning number one artist in a single year. He has had three consecutive songs at number one.
“In My Feelings” has been at the top spot for 10 weeks straight, which makes this 29 weeks that Drake has been numero uno on the charts. This breaks a record previously held by Usher, who was in the number one spot for 28 weeks back in 2004.
“Drake becomes the first soloist, and second act overall, after Boyz II Men, with three songs that have topped the Hot 100 for at least 10 weeks each, as ‘Feelings’ joins Drake’s two other smashes that led for at least that long: ‘God’s Plan,’ earlier this year, and ‘One Dance,’ featuring WizKid and Kyla, in 2016,” .
