Drake Drops “In My Feelings” Video Starring Lala and Phylicia Rashad
Finally, Drake drops the most anticipated video this year. Fans have probably seen over a hundred videos for Drake’s hit single “In My Feelings,” thanks to Shiggy’s #InMyFeelingsChallenge, but the only video that truly matters is finally here. Drake released the official visuals for his latest single on Thursday (Aug. 2).
In the 8-minute video, Drake (flexing a Southern accent) confronts Keke, who is played by Lala. He seems to be running game on her until Keke’s mama (played by Phylicia Rashad) cuts the conversation short. As the beat drops, Drizzy takes fans around New Orleans. Shiggy and Big Freedia also made cameos in the video.
The video arrived shortly after Drizzy teased its arrival on Instagram. The preview simply showed two side-by-side images of Clair Huxtable from The Cosby Show (played by Phylicia Rashad).
“In My Feelings” is a single released off of Drake’s latest studio album, Scorpion which dropped in June 2018. The single features the upcoming rap duo City Girls and samples from Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop” and the late bounce artist Magnolia Shorty. Unfortunately, JT of the City Girls was not able to make the video, as she is serving a prison sentence for fraud, but Yung Miami did hold it down for the both of them.
The viral challenge, which popped up after the single was released, garnered a number of celebrity renditions from Ciara, Will Smith, Kevin Hart, and more.
