Floyd Mayweather’s Ex Josie Harris Was In A $20 Million Trial Before Death Floyd Before Her Death
The late Josie Harris was in the middle of a $20 million legal battle with her ex-husband Floyd Mayweather before her death.
According to court, a Los Angeles judge set a trial date of December 7, 2020, in the case brought by Harris against Mayweather. The two were set to face off in court in the case that dragged on for years.
On Monday night, Harris was found dead at her home in Valencia, California. She was found dead unresponsive in her car.
Back in 2015, Harris sued Mayweather for $20 million accusing him of lying in an interview with Katie Couric. In his interview, he claimed Harris was high on drugs during an alleged 2010 domestic violence incident. He said he had to restrain Harris during an altercation.
Harris said his story was a lie and accused him of viciously abusing her. The incident in question happened when the fighter allegedly broke into her home and attacked her. Floyd was sentenced to two months in jail after being convicted of domestic violence.
At one point in the case, Mayweather filed an appeal, which caused the lawsuit to drag on for years. The California appeals court shut down Mayweather and ended up siding with Harris. They ordered her defamation case could move forward despite the fighter’s objections.
