Haekins is heading northward on the ladder in the music industry
Come rain come shine, one constant in the Nigerian music industry is the
fact that trailer loads of newbies will be making entry into the scene.
These folks are vying not just for attention but surging with intent to
take over thrones. History has shown that a huge number don’t have any
business around this space but the few that do, they got the skills, guts,
determination and the right team that makes them serial game changers. The
likes of the Olamide, Phyno, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and even Timaya have
proven to be game changers since they made entry into the industry. They
came, they saw and they continue to dominate. In that vein comes Haekins.
This Afro-pop artiste is a bunch of talent. His debut and sophomore singles
justifies such assessments.
Although 19 years of age, with two years active experience in the industry,
this lad already has a recording deal with Skyrise Entertainment. His first
single ‘Sister Teni’ produced by Apek, was released January 30th, 2018.
According to reports, alongside great reviews from other OAPs, Toolz of Beat99.9FM ticked him as one of the artistes to watch this year. Without wasting time on the applause, his sophomore ‘Expression’ premiered in June.
What makes him so special are his vocal delivery and songwriting skills. While some think he reminds them of Wizkid, Haekins is feeding off from his idols in the industry; idols like Wande Coal. With the positive responses coming through
from every angle, it’s obvious that Haekins is heading northward on the
ladder in the music industry.
