Who doesn’t want to see JLo strip?

Jennifer Lopez is taking on a controversial new film role that takes a totally different persona than we are used to. Jenny from the Block is set to play a stripper in the new flick, Hustler, which is a Robin Hood story if we’ve ever seen one.

The film, adapted by Annapurna and directed by Lorene Scafaria, was drawn from the New York magazine article about former strippers plotting to steal tens of thousands of dollars from their wealthy Wall Street clients. Lopez is reportedly set to play the ringleader of the operation. As one would expect, the ladies’ plan winds up going too far. Annapurna and Gloria Sanchez are producing the film, with Scafaria serving as both the writer and co-producer.

“The film is an empathetic look at women and men, our gender roles, what we’re valued for, what we’ve been told is our value in every movie, TV show, every corner of culture. Men have been told they’re worth the size of their bank accounts,” Scafaria said. “Women have been told they’re worth the symmetry of their faces, their bodies, their beauty, and that’s what this film is based on. The rules of the club are the rules of the world.”

Being the boss that she is, Lopez will also be executive producing. “There is no other actor who could embody this raw and dynamic character with such complexity, humanity and intelligence,” Scafaria added. “It’s always been her. She’s f**king Jennifer Lopez.”
