Kylian Mbappé Speaks about Jordan Brand Collaboration and PSG
There’s no doubt that this lad is the newest big thing in football now, so it’s a no-brainer for brand to affiliate with him and his team. Paris Saint-Germain and Jordan have joined forces on an extensive range of sportswear that includes tees, hoodies, sneakers, and PSG kits. The collaboration was officially unveiled nearly two weeks ago at Paris’ Parc des Princes stadium, where entertainers, athletes, and influencers got to see the 90-piece offering.
PSG forward Kylian Mbappé spoke at an the event, just hours after he first laid eyes on the collection’s friends-and-family Jordan V model.
“I saw them this morning. I was told that they are very limited edition. They’re beautiful, so I’m proud to wear them,” the 19-year-old athlete said. “For me, it’s an honor to be able to wear these shoes. It’s the quality that matters […] It’s an exceptional opportunity to present Jordan in Europe and the whole world.” The range, which marks Jordan’s first ever partnership with a football club, also includes the Jordan I silhouette in PSG colorways and co-branding.
Stylist/Jordan collaborator Aleali May was also in attendance.
“For me, the Jumpman spirit means trying to be the greatest at whatever I’m doing,” May explained, before naming Russell Westbrook, J.R. Smith, and LeBron James as some of the NBA stars she wants to see in the PSG sneakers. “To be able to rep Paris on the court in the NBA, that’s dope,” May explained, before saying: “That’s the thing about Jordan: not only is it a leader in sports and streetwear, but we’re worldwide, you know? It’s cool to spread the love.”
