Layzee Ella Makes You ‘Feel Everything’ Good About Music
Layzee Ella is one of the young Nigerian home-based Afrobeats artists dishing out the classic Afro-fusion sound that is presently resonating with the world. If you listen to her sophomore 7-track EP, titled ‘Feel Everything‘, the tracks have trappings of songs that often win BET and Soul Train awards. Unapologetic with her storytelling, her music mirrors love, heartbreak, and everything in between. Lyrically tight, vocally vivid, and melodically unique, Layzee’s makes you feel everything good about music.
When asked about her sophomore EP released on the books of Warner Music Africa, she said, “It is crazy how everyone fell in love with the various sounds in the project. I recorded in the truest of my element. I did not compromise every imagination in my head; it was raw and magical. Every time I get a review about a favorite song from the project, it is always different, and it excites me how I have been able to touch various people in different ways.
Christened Bagudu Emmanuella, she is a native of Akoko-Edo, Edo State. Growing up, she had an elder brother who had a keen interest in music. That rubbed off on her very early. Layzee’s debut 6-track EP, ‘When The Lights Go Off’, was exceptional. With songs like ‘Body On Me’, she announced herself. Ever since then, she has been on an upward trajectory. The music video for ‘Medusa’ featuring Khaid, the lead single off her sophomore EP, ‘Feel Everything’, is an artistic beauty.
