I like to have fun on my set, make my subject laugh to get them relaxed and with that, it becomes easy to create awesome images.

One of the significant payoff line that resonates with me for years is one from Nike years ago; it reads ‘Success takes care of everything”. This tagline was used in reference to getting results with whatever you have to work with without considering the limitations. Despite constraints, as long as one keeps working wisely and creatively, successful outcome will take care of the several moments of frustration. This is more like the story of Maro Emuoboh. This photographer know by the industry name ‘Sokream’ has worked his way up from a corner street in Warri to glamour shoots on the street of Lagos.

“I’m a self-taught portrait photographer, presently based in Lagos. I am Isoko by tribe from the southern part of the country, Warri. Been actively into photography for 3years now, before then I was into graphic designing and mainly retouching, which gave birth to my love for photography. I have lived better part of my life in Warri, had my primary and secondary education there before going to Madonna university, Elele, River state to study computer science and later went on to NIIT Benin (national institute of information technology).

I like to have fun on my set, make my subject laugh to get them relaxed and with that, it becomes easy to create awesome images. I’m that photographer that would do anything to get the best out of my subject even if it means me clowning cause I love to play a lot. I like my images to have depth most importantly, I love to get everything right on camera, everything even though there were instances that don’t permit that but when I can, I go for it. What sets me and my photography apart is the ability to work and create images with whatever is available to work with.

 

 

 

I’ve done creative shoots with basically anything I could lay my hands on especially when you don’t have access to tons of expensive equipment to work with. Shoot for a couple of years on my entry-level camera Nikon D3100, kit Lens, one flash and a shoot through umbrella. A lot of images were made with just that camera and kit lens. I got to understand its limitations and worked around it. My photography style differs depending on what or whom I am shooting or the type of images I would be creating. It’s always a different approach hence less monotonous result.
