Omarosa Sued by the Justice Department
Omarosa Manigault Newman former Director Of Communications in the Office of Public Liaison in the White House, and publisher of the book Unhinged is facing troubles with the authorities. The United States Government filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against her claiming she failed to file a certain financial form after she left the gig.
According to reports, on the day she was let go from her position, she received a post-government employment briefing in which she was told she had to file a termination financial disclosure report by January 18, 2018. Ten days later, an ethics attorney in the White House Counsel’s Office sent her an email reminding her to send in the report.
The Justice Department claims they sent several more reminder emails with no response. Two months later, long after the report was due, they claim Omarosa finally called the ethics attorney to discuss the overdue report. But according to the lawsuit, Omarosa still has not filed the form.
The Justice Department wants an order requiring her to file the report. She also faces a possible fine of up to $50,000.
