Taraji P. Henson Stars In A True-Life Race Drama ‘The Best Of Enemies’
For fans that can’t get enough of Taraji P. Henson weekly on Empire, her role as the star of the new, true-life race drama, ‘The Best of Enemies’ will send them to frenzy. And by the looks of the first trailer, this story is bound to evoke a handful of different emotions.
The films centers around the true friendship between civil rights activist Ann Atwater and former Ku Klux Klan leader C.P. Ellis in Durham, North Carolina. Henson plays Atwater whom is tasked with partnering with Ellis (played by Sam Rockwell) to oversee the issue of segregation in the public school system in 1971. While forced to work through their differences, the pair eventually discover that they share many of the same values. Although the two soften their views on one another, they both struggle with other obligations and expectations.
