Raebel Is Revving Up To Influence Afrobeats Narrative
Raebel, whose real name is Ademuyiwa Oluwatobe Christiana, is receiving rave reviews as one of the most vocally distinct Nigerian #Alte artists in the #fresher class of 2022. With her mainstream smash hit titled ‘Mini Skirt’, a dance-hall vocal beautifully sung on R&B/Pop beat that is presently having everyone mesmerized, it is fair to conclude that Raebel is consciously revving up to influence today’s Afrobeats narrative. The one-time want-to-be vixen is now an acclaimed musician.
According to her, “I am an Afro dancehall artist. I call my music #Raebellous. With my sound, my goal is to inspire my fans to be proud of whom they are regardless of what everyone else is saying. I have been called a rebel, weird, and no good. Some even said I would never amount to anything good, but God has the final say. I am not afraid of being seen as different. My music will inspire generations. I plan to release another single in the coming months before the release of my EP.”
A native of Ijebu north local government in Ogun state, she was born in the Ikorodu area of Lagos. “My journey in the music industry was not an easy one. I have been through a period of self-doubt. I have had breakdowns, but I believed I was born to do this. The process of doing covers for popular songs got me noticed. I got signed to Konvest Music. The whole team is like a family, trying to help achieve great things. I draw inspiration from God, but I look up to Koffee, Billie Eilish, Wizkid, and Davido.” She narrated.
