It is no longer news that the new COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is now a global pandemic that has caused a whole lot of death and embeds fear in the lives of so many. These are hard days for everyone globally. Everyone is upset about the Coronavirus, For this reason, Shedrack Salami (Xtrovarts), a body Painting Artist with the sole aim of healing the world via his Art has teamed up with some other creatives to raise awareness and highlight the importance of personal hygiene as well as taking all preventive measures to fight against the disease that has claimed the lives of more than 40,000 people worldwide.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new virus. The disease causes respiratory illness (like the flu) with symptoms such as a cough, fever, and in more severe cases, difficulty breathing. Coronavirus disease spreads primarily through contact with an infected person when they cough or sneeze. It also spreads when a person touches a surface or object that has the virus on it, then touches their eyes, nose, or mouth. Coronaviruses are zoonotic, meaning they’re spread from animals to humans. It was believed to have been transmitted from bats to humans and was first found in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China.
There’s currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

You can protect yourself and help prevent spreading the virus to others if you:

• Wash your hands frequently and regularly:
Frequently wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. When soap and running water are unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands that are visibly soiled.

• Cover your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or flexed elbow when you cough or sneeze. Make sure you dispose of the used tissue immediately. When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain the virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease.

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick.

• Maintain a social distance
The World Health Organisation recommends that you maintain at least 1 – 3-meter distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.

• Wear a facemask if you are sick
If you are sick, you should wear a facemask when you are around other people (e.g., sharing a room or vehicle) and before you enter a healthcare provider’s office. If you are not able to wear a facemask (for example, because it causes trouble breathing), then you should do your best to cover your coughs and sneezes, and people who are caring for you should wear a facemask if they enter your room.

• Avoid handshakes or hugs. Safety first, You can seal the deal by nodding your heads, or rather say hi by waving.

• Stay at home and self-isolate
If you’re sick, stay at home and self-isolate from others in the household if you feel unwell. Meanwhile, don’t just stay home and try to self medicate. If you’re showing symptoms of coronavirus, call your doctor.

• Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks.
If surfaces are dirty, clean them. Use detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection.

• Do not entertain fear don’t spread rumors or send fake broadcast messages. Watch the news to get regular updates and stay calm.

Health has to come first. We have to follow all the recommendations from the health and public authorities. That is the only way that we can fight it effectively. It’s time to be responsible and stay at home. Furthermore, it is a great chance to spend time with your loved ones, the time you do not always have. Our best to everyone, and let us hope we can turn this situation around, the quicker, the better. Stay Safe and God bless.
