Like crustaceans #meal, Soti vocal ability and faultless delivery is like soul food. The way she modulate from R&B-pop vocals into hip-hop singing rhymes conveys retro, now and yet futuristic. As one that is credited among the most talented and hardworking female artistes in the Nigerian music industry, 2019 is definitely looking like the year that this songbird and sunflower will break into superstardom.

“My name is Sotonye Jane Pepple popularly known as Soti! I’m from Rivers State but I spent most of my life in Abuja – Nursery, primary and secondary education. I graduated from the University of East London where I studied Business Economics and soon after my degree, I started pursuing a career in Music! The irony lol

Music for me the started in the church, I joined the church choir at the age of five and realized I was blessed with the gift of singing! I went on to join music clubs in school and started going to the studio from the age of 14. I featured In Naeto C’s first album ‘You Know My P’ on a track titled ‘Superman’ and also on Ikechukwu’s ‘Life and times of killz vol 2” on a track titled ‘Killz’ at the age of 15. That was when I knew music was really what I wanted to do as a career!

Well so far, I’ve been doing music PROFESSIONALLY for over two years now! It’s been a roller-coaster, a lot of ‘up’ moments and also a couple of downs too… I must say it has been very challenging. So far, I have a total of 7 singles ( ‘Feel You’, ‘I Play’, ‘Ekelebe’, ‘No Lele’, ‘Eko’,  ‘Eko’-remix’, ‘Take Five’) and three videos out! My new single ‘Take Five ‘ which dropped late November last year with the video as well! It’s out on all major digital platforms and YouTube

Describe your music and what your audience should expect of your in the coming months

Ooh I’m an artiste that doesn’t like to be boxed!! I do a lot of genres to be honest but I do mainly Afropop! I have so much in store for the year, some fire singles and hopefully a body of work depending on how the year goes. To be honest, I ’m really excited about the coming months.
