The Rise Of Instagram Live: Does Your Content Stand Out? – By Sesan Adeniji
The COVID-19 pandemic has leveled the playing field in the media industry and opened the door for a legion of content creators to flood in. Thanks to the rise of Instagram Live (Halleluyah), so many media players are now churning out mini-shows. As my social media timeline gets choked up with messages alerting me of when the various programs will be live and running, the question now is, do most of the content add up? Arguably No.
Sadly, most of the shows seem to be doing the same thing – with regards to the structure and depth of the content. They are asking the same questions and narrating the same tale. Content creators should engage in commentaries that are thoughtful, broad issues, and insightful fact base analysis. The freedom to independently create content without been subjected to any red tape should be cherished. Don’t stroke your interviewee’s ego – ask them tough objective questions. The interviewer should go into each show with a planned topic and well-research assertions. It’s time to make Instagram Live count. Don’t just go live – go content-driven.
They are a handful of Instagram Live shows doing a good job, but most need a rethink. Don’t spend time on all your daily shows all through the week chatting only with celebs. Instead, use some of the opportunity to showcase unknown talents. Don’t be lost engaging in cliché questions, discuss beneficial topics. There’s nothing new except it’s different. I am sending a shout out to all those doing a great job. You all know yourselves. If Instagram Live is one of the new normal, we need to work together to make it perfect.

They are a few more.
