For me he’s like a hybrid of Shank, General Pype, Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, and a bit of Samini, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale mashed up together- Sesan Adeniji

If there’s one major issue the Nigerian music industry is guilty of today, it’s the lack of diversity in the sounds. The quest to find the easy way to join the trends and get popular at all means seem to be depriving the industry of creativity. All artistes do today is hook up
with a producer and say I want to produce music that sounds like the trending artiste. This copycat or trendingcat (in my own words) syndrome is also visible in the music video world. The difference between most videos today might just be the name of the artiste. The
concept and theme of these videos are arguably the same.

The entry of artistes like Burna Boy and Mr Eazi actually stopped that lazy artistes’ cycle at different times but to be sincere, this epidemic has eaten deep into the industry. However, with artistes like Twist Da Fireman, I am so positive that there’s hope. To be sincere, there are no words to describe how creative and talented this young artiste is until you come in contact with his music. For me he’s like a hybrid of Shank, General Pype, Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, and a bit of Samini, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale mashed up together. Listening to his single ‘Pause It’ and ‘Loving You’ is so refreshing. It’s like vibing to an up-tempo Beenie Man/Bob Marley. This song will send fans going crazy on the dance floor. You will bump your head to it to while driving. This young man is a super star in the making.

Twist Da Fireman officially broke into the music industry in 2013 when he moved to Lagos but it wasn’t until 2014, when he made a crossover to the Lagos music scene with his mid-tempo Summer Jam, “Pause It” that the budding star got the media sphere buzzing. Twist has also worked with some of the best hands in Ghana; the likes of “Trigmatic, Rachael and Kessi’’. Twist Da Fireman is a magnificent vocalist and he oozes versatility as his unique sound blends Dancehall, Afrobeat, R&B and Reggae into one tightly knit package.
