Wiz Khalifa’s Rolling Papers 2 Debuts at #2 On Billboard In Its first week
A piece of Khalifa’s music never hurts. The audience waited long for this material and its hasn’t disappointed thus far. Wiz Khalifa’s Rolling Papers 2 locked up the number 2 spot on the Billboard 200 in its first week. Named as the sequel to Khalifa’s Atlantic Records debut album, the Taylor Gang rapper sold 80,000 copies of what is his sixth studio album. Drake’s Scorpion still holds the top spot for the third week in a row with Post Malone’s Beerbongs and Bentleys and XXXTentacion’s ? respectively trailing Wiz Khalifa at #3 and #4.
Despite debuting at #2 on the charts, the “Something New” rapper’s new album has yet to produce any billboard chart-toppers with “Hopeless Romantic” and “Fr Fr” respectively at the #72 and #73 spot.
Hip-hop still proves to be the prominent genre as 7 of the top 10 albums on Billboard are from rap artists. Cardi B, Lil Baby, and Juice WRLD are holding down top 10 positions as of Tuesday with Future’s Beast Mode 2 just missing the top 10 at #11.
Wiz is currently on the Dazed and Blazed tour with Rae Sremmurd, which stops in Toronto on Tuesday before heading to Saratoga Springs, NY.
