WORD UP with Ivan Edd
‘My single ‘Work Work Gbera’ is a motivational song that relates to everyone in all walks of life, in the streets, in your work place, at the office, etc. The message says ‘I put in work you better work,’ for the streets man must work, you dey for street o boy you must work oh.
I got love most especially for the streets. I’m talking about people out in these streets all over the world that choose working hard over crime. I wanted an artiste that the streets can relate to easily, I have been a huge fan of Reminisce and Phyno, they are my favourite Nigerian rappers with amazing careers, so I reached out to Phyno who is the king of the streets from the East and Alaga Reminisce who is the king of the streets from the West to make the song a masterpiece. It wasn’t an easy journey getting them both because of their very busy schedules. It literally took eight months in getting both the audio and video done, and it was all worth it in the end because we all made it a banger. Phyno and Reminisce came off really strong on the song. That gave me so much joy for a dream come true.
I don’t stop working; making music is a part of me. As a matter of fact it’s all I do, so I’ve got lots of singles coming. First is a mixtape titled ‘Little did they know;
I already have one song out off the mixtape, a cover of ‘KMT’ by Drake ft Giggs that is out on my YouTube channel and Sound Cloud. More is also coming every week before my official single to be released in August. Y’all should stay tuned I promise you good music. My mixtape ‘Little did they know’ like the title says is a reflection of myself as a rapper, a singer, a goofy guy and you will figure this out by listening to the mixtape. Big shout out to all believers that love my sound, I’m never
letting y’all down. Bless up!- Ivan Edd
