Yung L’s EP ‘Juice & Zimm’ Is Spilling All Over The Continent
With the continent of Africa becoming a very important hub for most of the multi-national record labels scouting for exotic music, songs from artists like Yung L will receive the recommendation. The 7-track EP Juice & Zimm, Yung L’s latest project, is a must-listen-to for every music fan.
He has released videos for four of the songs – Tropicana Baby, Eve Bounce, Island Thing, and ‘Ready’ ft. Sarkodie and Tay Iwar. These are good pieces of music spilling and dripping all over the continent.
I asked him to talk about the album, “Juice & Zimm is my third project. It has been in the works for over 3 years. I started working on it about the same time I was working on my first album titled ‘Better Late than Never’. I wanted to release both projects simultaneously but plans changed. Juice & Zimm is a dancehall body of work.
This EP allows me to experiment so much. I worked with two producers Tuc and Ayzed, and I also featured three artists Sarkodie, Vanessa Mdee, and Tay Iwar. They all brought their A-game on” – Yung L
Yung L has had a steady growth in the Nigerian music industry, “With this EP, I feel very comfortable as an artist. I have connected more with my audience. I have been consistent and have delivered more music in the past few years. I have done shows both locally and internationally, and I couldn’t be happier.
I love the music I am churning out; my fans love them as well. I am also excited as the Nigerian music scene is getting all the exposure it deserves. There’s a wide range of artists and music fans. The only sad part of the tale is that it took me too long to get to where I am now.
Although I am not yet where I intend to be or where the works I have put in ought to have taken me to, I know it will happen. Greater days are coming. My sound will soon take over” – Yung L
