In branding, there’s nothing as important as a unique identity, so as well is it in the modeling industry. Often, people are of the opinion that models with the flashy edges significantly gets all the attention but sometimes, the ones with the relatively calm demeanor arouses the most interest. This is the best way to describe Alagoa Ayibadiepreye Favor a.k.a Yeuvola. I have met several models in my line of work, but there’s something about this young lady that one can’t get enough of. Standing 5’10ft, waist – 24, hips- 34 and bust -32, she commands such star power associated with the likes of Jada Pinkett Smith in Hollywood and the Kemi Smallz of the Nigerian radio broadcasting. Just one look at her, she will leave a deep impression on you. She’s a model made for the big screen.
“I was born in Port Harcourt. I hail from Bayelsa State Nigeria. Currently, I’m a 200level student of the department of Mass communication at the University Of Benin, Ekenwan Campus. After graduating from High school, I had almost a year to stay home. Unable to learn any other skill or handwork to keep my mind busy, I decided to take dance lessons. From ballet to hip-hop, I was consuming lots of dance moves. Modeling was something I’ve always loved but never considered. I’d watch fashion week highlights, comment on collections but didn’t see myself going into it anytime. Considering my height, in my mind, I relegated the idea to the back-burner.
However, in March 2018 Miss Tolulope Amedigni the organizer of Miss HOTLEGS / PHOTOGENIC UNIBEN and her team met me on my way back from lectures. They were so keen on having me in the pageant. I did agree later on. At first, it was weird for me because I was the only girl on low cut. At various points, I sincerely got tired; the constant fear of starting something and not knowing what next afterwards, drove me nuts. I did emerge as the First runner up. Then after, Miss Ivie Okuns, the model manager for Gemian Model Management scouted me at the grand Finale. That was my launch pad into the world of modeling.
As a model, I’ve learned how to discipline myself to get successful results. I’ve been subjected to continuous training of my body and mind in order to achieve greatness. It hasn’t been easy for me not just on the financial aspect but learning to change my mindset was a struggle. I once had this notion that I needed to gain weight to look beautiful and maybe curvy. My managers had to work on making me understand that beauty is whatever you want it to be. I was taught and eventually learned how to appreciate and love my collarbones and my slim stature. This was the greatest battle but I’m happy I got over it. Now, I’m on a steady climb on the modeling ladder with my eyes on all the fashion weekends in Nigeria but most importantly, I aim to walk the runways in Milan, Paris and make a cover for GQ” -Yeuvola
