HIKA’S ‘HONEYGRAM’ IS ‘THE SONG’
My kind of song is always one where the vocals are delivered to perfection while the simplicity of the melody will make you want to sing along. Also worth mentioning, the instrumentation and its arrangement should get one so addicted to the sound from the first listen. The harmonies must be a killer. Over the years, songs like ‘African Queen’ by 2baba, ‘Yori-Yori’ by Bracket and ‘Don’t break my heart’ by Banky W to mention but a few, have done this for me. Another song I am feeling right now in that range is Hika’s ‘Honeygram’. Right now, this is ‘the song’ for me.
‘The single was inspired by love, I am reaching out to ladies who will always do everything to keep their man, those who can encourage their man to victory – the patient ones. The single ‘Honeygram’ was like a freestyle in the studio but ironically; it became my debut single.’ – Hika.
Ehika Chika a.k.a Hika who just graduated from the University of Lagos (Unilag) with a degree in Philosophy is versatile and can switch from Pop, Soul, and Reggae to Afro-pop effortlessly.
‘The industry should get ready for Hika: More music, Hika everywhere, it’s going to be a #rehikanation. I know the industry demands a high standard, hard working female artiste who will compete favorably with the guys. I promise, I will make everyone proud of me’ – she concluded.
