Joyce Chukwuka: The ‘Radio Chic’ On Super 88.1FM Benin

When you hear Joyce Chukwuka on the radio, it is hard not to be intrigued. Spontaneous and in tune with pop culture, the ease at which she navigates through top trends in music, fashion, movies, and societal issues is second to none. She doesn’t do empty rhetoric. Listening to her midday ( 11 am- 3 pm ) weekday show on Super 88.1FM Benin is fascinating. Intellectually sound and with a presentation style that is elegantly stylish and entertaining, Joyce Is the Radio Chic holding listeners spellbound.

A Native of Delta state, Ndokwa east local government, and an alumnus of the University Of Benin, where she studied International Studies and Diplomacy, but it was inevitable she would end up as a broadcaster. It was a match made in heaven. According to her, “I ventured into broadcasting about seven years ago after being told for years that it is an industry I would excel. I have experienced highs and lows. Yet, I will not trade the experience for anything else.” She chuckled.

“I started at Rhythm FM Benin as an intern, trained by the news department. They moved me to programs on TV and radio. It was fast-paced and demanding. I made it work, learning major life lessons on the way. After two years, I left radio to work on online television with TSL Nigeria as a Media Manager. Two years after, I found myself working in Corporate Comms. But I returned to my first love-broadcasting in 2022 with Super FM Benin hosting the midday(11 am – 3 pm) and Saturday breakfast show( 6 am – 12 noon ). I’m enjoying what I am becoming.” She concluded
