LAFUP LIVE – A Decade of Extra-ordinary Comedy Spectacle In Ibadan
By the time the dust settled after the glitz and glamour that followed yet another highly pulsating comedy display at the 2018 “LAFUP LIVE” Comedy show themed ‘LAFUP FOR GOVERNOR’, on 26th of December at the Jogor Center, in Ibadan; every reputable media outlets agreed it was a groundbreaking edition.

For relatively ten years in a roll, comedian ‘Lafup’ consistently delivered this comedy show reminiscent of another trailblazing achievement of one of the great female icon from Oyo state – the one and only Funmi Aragbaye – undisputedly the first ever Nigerian female gospel artiste signed to a foreign record company – CBS/ Sony Music.

This year’s Boxing Day ‘Lafup Live’ comedy show did not just attracted the entire grassroots Ibadan City folks but also got the attention of the political class and the elites – the crème-de-la-crème were in attendance. This political satire was out of the box. Lafup continue to justify why he’s rated as one of Ibadan’s greatest comedy export, TV host and total entertainer “Laf of the Party”.
As a major crowd puller headlining his show and starring other major acts, the event this year was a total shut down; Lafup successfully sold out back to back and has put Ibadan comedy on the map. In the words of Yinka Ayefele, “Lafup is the singular reason Ibadan people now pay to watch any show; he started it.”
The “Lafup Live” has giving platform to younger comedians to thrive and also created a distinct business ambience. When asked if he will be hosting a show of this magnitude in Lagos? He replied, “certainly *The Circus* will be back in Lagos by summer next year, bigger and better with a total theatre experience.

We can only wish the Ibadan King of comedy well especially as he hits the screen first quarter of 2019 with his new comedy series titled “Omo Baba Landlord”. A urban Yoruba comedy show that will be aired on Africa Magic.
